Marketing to the Masses

Advertising in my opinion I believe to be on the most strongest ways to impact a society or group of people in a major way. For example a group of people or community won't know every product out there, they'll exchange notes on which products they have used in the past, what worked the best and what they will try in the future. But advertisement allows the masses to become informed of all of their options, though some may not work as well, or only be popular because of the well known ad campaigns, at least the people will be informed and isn't that what being human is all about? We are naturally curious creatures, we always have to know what is going on in all other people's lives, what others are up too, we always ask; what happened, what is happening and what will happen. And with the ability to be able to advertise we are able to answer the burning desire of curiosity that lies with in us, we want and need to know everything that is out there and how we can have it, get it or use it and that for me is the most exciting thing about advertisement. This semester I'm looking forward to being able to learn at least some of the tools used to answer those burning questions, to be able to learn and apply the things used by real professionals in the field to make you want their product will be amazing! Learning the power of persuasion is what I look most forward to as the semester carries on!- Kelcie Williams
